POEMS THAT GLOW | writing light in a dark season | online with Jen Feroze | Thurs 4th Dec | 7.30–9pm
As the nights draw in, join Jen Feroze for a gentle, generative and uplifting writing workshop. We'll hunker down and look for the light, with a series of writing prompts and exercises that will encourage you to think about where you find comfort, brightness and spark.
Jen says: There's a definite magic about this time of year, as we head towards the longest night. The run up to the festive period adds a sort of glimmering to the periphery of everything - trees and stars and garlands and gold. But there's a wildness to the season too, a feeling of being on the cusp between beginnings and endings, joy and sadness, light and dark.
We'll be examining this liminality together, with scope for the creation of poems about people, memory, nature and place, shining light on what's important to us, and leaving with new flickering flames of ideas - a row of personal candles in a darkened window.
Come prepared for a cozy and inspiring workshop over 90 minutes and expect to leave with many seeds of new poems and ideas for many more!
Numbers limited to 12.
Fee: £30
Places are limited and go fast so early booking is recommended to avoid disappointment.
