FREE TRIAL session in 'The Write Place' | morning sessions online for your own writing practice, hosted by writing mentor Kate Oldfield | Monday or Thursday mornings 9.30am–12pm UK
The Write Place is an online creative writing space, where writers of every level can come together for support, community and accountability, while carving out 2 hours of protected, mentored writing time for yourself.
It’s a perfect space to get your writing done, break through the block, find your flow and meet like-minded people. (Imposter syndrome isn’t allowed a look in.)
The sessions are hosted by writer, poet and ex-publisher and ghost-writer, Kate Oldfield, who brings her experience and expertise to help each writer set their own goals, get 'out of their own way' and get their writing done!
The first 20 mins of each morning is used as a check in followed by a short mindfulness exercise or some embodied writing. We then set our creative intention for the session and write for 2 hours, before coming back together to discuss, briefly, how we got on.
(Since we started in 2021, 4 people have completed their first books, 1 person has sold their novel in an exciting 4-way auction to a major international publisher, many poems have been written, one person has been accepted to a prestigious Scottish University for a Masters in creative writing - and many many journals have been filled.)
Pop a free session in the shopping cart here and tell us which morning (Monday or Thursday) and which date and we will be in touch with the Zoom link. Please use the contact form if you wish to know more before you try. Why not book a no-obligation chat with Kate on zoom to discuss your queries, goals and requirements?

It works like this…
You can pick whichever session you like, whenever you like.
All sessions are on Zoom (in school term times). All timings are UK time.
For the first 15 minutes of the session, we come together for a brief and light chat to say hello, we then have a short discussion or a prompt, or some breath work, or a creative visualisation exercise, to ground and centre the group. We then set our intentions for the writing session and write for 2 hours, (cameras on - if we like – microphones off). We then check in with each other at the end of the session (and sometimes people might want to share a little of what they are working on – but that is not obligatory, and many don’t).
Everyone is welcome
Participants include poets, short-story writers, writers for well-being, non-fiction writers, novelists, business copy writers and a script writer. Many are beginners, some have been published before – everyone is welcome. (Since we started in 2021, 4 people have completed their first books and many poems have been written and journals filled.)
It is hosted and mentored by Kate Oldfield . Kate has worked in publishing for over 20 years – as a publisher, editor, writing mentor, and ghost-writer. She now divides her time between writing her own first novel, running creative writing groups and spoken word events, and carving out a little bit more time for her poetry.
The first session is free.
If you like what you experience, then it’s ‘pay and play’. £10 per session or £17 for the whole day. The Zoom link is sent out the night before, once people have paid.
